What is it?

What is it, the underlying force of life?
Is it the expansion of space, making clocks tick and time pass?
Or is it the universal rotation of things?
From galaxies' cores to tumbling planets toppling over
to particles even, hurtling along their orbits
restless ever on.

Now in the end, finding they are flickering more
than circling on set paths--
it's just movement of any sort connecting
the vastness of space with the atom's minusculity,
providing life a chance.
And we here are, expanding, tumbling, speeding on
flickering again all over.
